Jim
McCormick is an adventurer, professional speaker and
leading authority on risk-taking. Many publications including Investor’s
Business Daily, the Wall Street Journal’s National Business
Employment Weekly, Presentations Magazine and the San
Francisco Business Times have showcased his expertise.
Among the
experiences that serve as a backdrop for Jim’s presentations is his
having skydived to the North Pole as a member of an international
expedition.
Jim is a
skydiving World Record holder having been a part of largest skydiving
formation ever completed - 246 skydivers. He is one of only 400
Professional Exhibition Skydivers in the United States. In this role,
he has jumped into numerous prominent settings including nationally
televised sporting events with audiences as large as 100,000. Jim
celebrated his 45th birthday by doing 45 skydives - in one day! Jim
has also participated in some of the highest altitude civilian
skydives in the world - from 31,000 feet.
Jim has
served in Washington, D.C. as a member of a Presidential
administration where among various positions, he was the first non-
attorney in the history of the U. S. Department of Energy to serve as
Special Assistant to the General Counsel. In the world of business,
Jim has been a project partner of a real estate investment and
development company, a court-appointed Receiver responsible for real
property portfolios worth over $140 million and the Chief Operating
Officer of an international design firm. Jim teaches executive level
management courses at San Jose State University.
Jim has a
degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Southern California
and an MBA in finance and marketing from the University of California,
Irvine. Jim has over 1,700
skydives and has accumulated over 29 hours of freefall. He currently
resides in Half Moon Bay, California.
